Bluelight Wellness was birthed from a family tradition rooted in connection + belonging. Sunday gatherings centered around faith, football, and food were staples in our home. It was our touch tree which grounded us in our values and set us up for the challenges of the week ahead. This community is a continuation of that mission to nourish the whole person: physical body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual connection through the simple act of gathering around the table.
As a daughter, wife, and mother of four, I truly understand the unique challenges families face today. Busy schedules, school commitments and work stress keep most people running full steam ahead at all costs. Often overwhelmed by stress, anxiety and burnout many prioritize the needs of others while struggling to care for themselves. When this happens, not only does our health suffer, but we also sacrifice our sense of peace and joy.
As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Culinary Educator, and Chef, I'm committed to making health and wellness accessible and approachable for families. Drawing inspiration from the principles of Ayurveda, I believe that the kitchen is a space for nourishment, connection, and creativity. By aligning with the natural rhythms of the seasons, we can cultivate our innate wisdom and promote holistic well-being.
My Approach
Faced with an onslaught of conflicting information about food, many families are confused about what to eat. Moreover, it’s not only what we eat, but HOW we eat that catapults many on the road to disease. Cultivating awareness about what we are putting into our bodies and connecting to our food empowers us to observe whether our choices are drawing us closer to health or driving us further away. Through the senses we connect our inner environment to the outside world and realize that we are in community with the natural world around us. My philosophy emphasizes a whole-system approach to health, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and social factors. Through experiential and embodied learning in the kitchen, cultivating our senses, and connecting to nature, I offer a joyful and empowering path to wellness.
