"The Science of Life"
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the longest continuously practiced healing science in the world. Originating over 5,000 years ago, its chief objective is maintaining health and preventing disease. Through a universal language of interconnectedness, Ayurveda teaches that we are a microcosm of the macrocosm, meaning we are made of the same 5 elements found in nature: Space, Air, Fire, Water, + Earth. Our health + wellness are determined by the relationship between our internal + external worlds. The more aligned our inner + outer environments are, the more we thrive. Ultimately, when we find ourselves out of balance, Ayurveda provides a roadmap back.
How does it work?
An adaptive science that applies to today's modern world, Ayurveda takes a holistic approach to health, considering the whole person rather than treating individual symptoms. Rooted in the belief that each person has a unique constitution, Ayurveda honors what is nourishing to one could be harmful to another.
Ayurveda prioritizes healthy diet & lifestyle practices that are suitable for the person's present health concerns, phase of life, and time of year.
Ayurveda looks at the interplay between qualities found in nature and qualities present within the body + mind. When one quality is dominant, a core principle is to find balance by introducing an opposing quality.
Who is it for?
Ayurveda teaches that the substances we ingest through our senses become the blueprint for who we are. As a result, proper sense care and digestion are two main tenets of maintaining health. Today's modern world is bombarded with stimuli, from the hustle of busy cities to technology + social media. Adopting simple daily practices and routines can help quiet the noise and soothe the senses to support overall ease + wellbeing.
